NY Boiler & Air Conditioning Repair
No ducts, no problem. That’s the whole point of a mini split — and it’s why they’ve taken over Long Island.
Most of the homes we work in around Baldwin, Freeport, Oceanside, Rockville Centre and Merrick were built with boilers and radiators, which means no ductwork anywhere in the house. For decades your options were window units rattling away all summer or a central-air retrofit that tears the house apart. A ductless mini split ends that argument: quiet, efficient cooling — and serious heating too — from a slim wall unit, installed in a day, room by room or for the whole house.
I’m Louie the Boiler Man. My crew and I install and service four brands we actually stand behind: Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu and Tosot.
Reach out to us by calling (516) 377-5200 or by contacting us online. We serve customers throughout Long Island and New York City.
The brands we install — and the honest differences
The benchmark. Whisper-quiet heads, bulletproof reliability, and hyper-heat models that hold their full heating power in serious cold. If the mini split is going to be your main heat source, Mitsubishi is on the short list every time.
Daikin.
The world’s biggest name in HVAC for a reason. Excellent cold-climate heating, great warranties, and a huge range — from single bedrooms to whole-house multi-zone systems. Neck and neck with Mitsubishi at the top.
Fujitsu.
The value sweet spot. Strong efficiency and proven reliability, usually at a friendlier price than the two above. For a lot of South Shore homes, Fujitsu is the smart-money pick.
Tosot.
Built by GREE, one of the largest AC manufacturers on the planet. The most cooling per dollar of the four — a great fit for bedrooms, additions, garages and rental units where budget leads the decision but you still want a unit that lasts.
Which one belongs in your house? That depends on the rooms, the budget, and whether you want it carrying heat in January. That’s the conversation we have at the estimate — and we’ll tell you straight, even when the right answer is the cheaper one.

Frequently asked questions
Which brand is best — Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu or Tosot?
They’re all good machines at different price points. Mitsubishi and Daikin lead in cold-weather heating and quiet operation, Fujitsu is the value-reliability sweet spot, and Tosot gives you the most cooling per dollar. The real answer depends on your rooms, your budget and whether heating matters — which is exactly what we figure out at the estimate.
Do mini splits heat well enough for a Long Island winter?
Modern hyper-heat models from Mitsubishi and Daikin hold their heating capacity well below freezing. For most South Shore homes they carry the season fine, and plenty of our customers keep their boiler as backup for the deepest cold snaps. Best of both worlds.
How much does installation cost in Nassau County?
A single-zone system starts in the low thousands installed; multi-zone scales with the number of rooms. Brand, line-set length and electrical work move the number. Call or text 516-377-5200 with the rooms you want covered and we’ll quote it straight — usually same day.
Do homes near the water need anything special?
Yes. Salt air in Oceanside, Island Park and Long Beach corrodes outdoor coils much faster than inland. We recommend coil-protected models near the water, smart condenser placement, and periodic fresh-water rinses. It’s the difference between a condenser lasting 6 years and 15.
Do you clean and service mini splits too?
Yes — deep cleaning of indoor heads (blower wheel, coil, drain pan), outdoor coil rinses, refrigerant checks and repairs, on every brand we install.
Are there rebates for heat pump mini splits?
Often, yes — utility and state incentives come and go and change value year to year. Ask when you call and we’ll tell you what’s active right now for your address.
