NY Boiler & Air Conditioning Repair
If you’re reading this, you’re probably staring at an aging boiler or a water heater on its last legs, and somebody told you to look into Navien. Good advice.
I’m Louie the Boiler Man, and Navien installation is the thing I’m known for. Factory-trained, Navien-certified, with hundreds of combi boilers and tankless systems installed across Nassau, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx since 2012. This isn’t a brand I dabble in — it’s the equipment I’ve built my reputation on.
What a Navien can replace in your house
The most popular move on the South Shore right now is the combi: one wall-hung unit, about the size of a suitcase, that replaces your boiler AND your water heater at the same time. Endless hot water, heat for the whole house, up to 95% efficiency, and a chunk of your basement back.
Not sure which one fits your house? That’s literally my job. Text me a photo of your current setup at (917) 468-2325 and I’ll tell you straight what makes sense — including when a Navien is NOT the right answer. It happens.
What a proper installation includes
Why the installer matters more than the box
Here’s the honest truth about Navien: when you hear someone complain about one, nine times out of ten the problem isn’t the unit — it’s the install. Undersized gas line. Venting that sags. No condensate neutralizer. A combi sized off a guess. The machine gets blamed for the shortcuts of whoever put it in.
A factory-trained installation is the difference between a system that runs quietly for 15+ years and one that throws error codes every winter. And because we’re local — 997 Merrick Road in Baldwin — the same shop that installs your unit is the one that maintains it, descales it every year, and answers the phone if anything ever acts up. Installer, servicer, and warranty shop, all one number.
Where we install
Our home zone is South Nassau — Baldwin, Freeport, Merrick, Oceanside, Rockville Centre, Island Park, Long Beach, Roosevelt, Uniondale and Hempstead — with installations across Nassau County, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx.
Call or text 516-377-5200 for a quote. Most estimates happen same day, and a photo of your current boiler or water heater gets you 80% of the way to a real number.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Navien combi installation cost on Long Island?
It depends on the model, the condition of your gas line and venting, and what we’re removing. Call or text 516-377-5200 with a photo of your current setup and we’ll give you a real number — most quotes happen same day.
What’s the difference between a combi and a tankless?
A tankless unit (NPE series) handles hot water only. A combi (NCB series) does both jobs in one wall-hung unit — it heats your home AND your water, replacing a boiler and a water heater at once. For a lot of South Shore homes, one combi retires two aging pieces of equipment.
How long does the installation take?
A straightforward swap is usually done in a day. Converting from an old cast-iron boiler with new venting and gas line work can run into a second day. You’ll know the timeline before we start.
Do combi boilers work in older homes?
Yes — we put them in pre-war homes in Freeport, Rockville Centre and Baldwin all the time. The key is proper sizing against the home’s actual heat loss and radiation, which is exactly the step a factory-trained installer doesn’t skip.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. Licensed and insured, and we deal with the paperwork with your town or village — which matters in Nassau County, where every village has its own building department.
Who takes care of the unit afterward?
We do. Annual maintenance and descaling is our $599 flat-rate full service, and warranty work goes through us as a Navien-certified shop. The installer and the servicer are the same phone number.
